About the event
Come join POA friends on Saturday, May. 18 for a fun hike outing starting at Canoe Meadows following the beautiful Kananaskis River to Widowmaker. We will meet at 9:45 AM outside by Pulse at the Malcolm . We will leave at 10 AM sharp so please be on time.
The drive to the trailhead is along highway 1 east then highway 40 south to Canoe Meadows parking lot on. We typically travel in informally arranged car pools, so if you were planning to attend, please feel free to arrange your ride with fellow POA members also attending the event.
The hike is along the east bank of Kananaskis river and is very scenic, with a lotof kayak gates along river, rock outcrops and campgrounds.
We can stop at widowmaker for snacks or lunch, and beverage drinks so please bring your choice of lunch items with you. No alcohol is permitted on the outing.
This is a rather short hike and those wishing to do a second short scenic hike can then also drive a short distance to MT. Lorette ponds for an additional 1 km hike of the scenic ponds.
